In addition to the Youth Space, our organization - Alex Neighbourhood House - supports youth, caregivers, and families in the South Surrey/White Rock community through various other programs. If you’re looking for support with mental health and wellness, need your resume reviewed, or need someone to talk to: look below for the different ways we can connect with you! All the programs listed below are free of charge.

You can also come meet a Youth Worker at the Youth Space and ask any questions you might have! We have youth workers on staff for every weekday we are open. Please come by and say hello!


Are you in crisis and need support right now?

If you need immediate help, call Emergency Services – 911.

These are examples of situations that you should seek immediate help:

  • Thinking about ending your life or trying to end your life.

  • Feeling scared because you’re experiencing sensations that aren’t real and/or beliefs that can’t possibly be true.

  • Becoming unable to care for yourself, and it’s putting you at risk of serious harm.

  • Experiencing an alcohol or drug overdose.

  • Taking a dangerous combination of substances (like medications and alcohol).

Youth Worker

Youth workers are here to provide one-to-one support for youth to identify and reach their personal goals, including employment, housing, mental health, life skills, family & peer relationships, and connecting to resources. Click here for more information on youth workers and what they do.

Youth can drop in and visit a youth worker during our Youth Space open hours, or do a referral for one-to-one support. The referral can be done by youth directly, as well as parents, caregivers, school staff and others, where youth are aware a referral is being made. Family Worker

Family workers provide one-to-one support and coaching for parents and caregivers around challenging behaviours, communication, skills training, connecting to resources; as well as parent education groups and workshops.

Youth Services Navigator

Finding the right mental health services and resources can be difficult, especially when you’re already struggling. Our Youth Services Navigator can connect you to resources related to mental health and wellness, be an advocate, and help get the support you need.

Reconnect - Youth Outreach

Youth workers aren’t just in our offices or the Youth Space, they do outreach in the South Surrey & White Rock community too! Outreach aims to meet youth where they are at to provide information and resources on food, shelters, harm reduction, and more. We also always have snacks and naloxone kits to give out. Say hi if you see us!

Vine Youth Clinic

Vine Youth Clinic is a free, confidential health clinic for youth ages 12-21. You can see a doctor regarding general health, sexual health, mental health or substance use. Pregnancy, STI testing, and birth control is also available.

A youth worker is also available during clinic hours.

Support for 2SLGBTQ+ Youth

Alex House is a safe place for 2SLGBTQ+ youth and our youth workers can support in navigating 2SLGBTQ+ identity, coming out, bullying, mental health, or any other questions you might have.
