We are honored to be hosting a local youth entrepreneur Erica, to share with our youth her advice and wisdom!!
This workshop will empower youth to become creative entrepreneurs. Through a hands-on session, participants will use bracelets as a learning tool to open in person sales, online storefronts, market, and ship their products anywhere.
Participants will:
***
- Learn e-commerce basics and platform navigation
- Explore accessible jewelry-making techniques
- Develop branding, keywords, and photography for listings
- Package products
- Gain confidence through earning potential and creativity
In the workshop, each person will make three bracelets, one to donate locally, and two to keep or sell, encouraging both generosity and entrepreneurial motive.
All participants will leave with a “take-home toolbox” of supplies and manuals to keep creating and selling beyond the workshop.
Erica's hope for this project is to help connect people through shared creativity, storytelling, and mutual support, fostering lasting friendships and peer mentorship in the community.
Why is this important to Erica?
Ever since I sold my first homemade product at my school’s craft fair, in grade 5, I have been interested in how my ideas can turn into a business. As a Grade 11 student, I have big aspirations to study business/marketing post-secondary. Throughout my life, I have created various ventures and startups, with over 100+ products sold online. I’ve even gotten the opportunity to work with various other brands to promote their products.
With this experience, I want to create an opportunity to teach other youth to pursue their dreams in entrepreneurship and even e-commerce.
The process has grown to be much more accessible, so I want to help others share/market their products (whether crafted or sourced) online. This skill is extremely beneficial to students and young adults, as it allows them to earn passive income, offering financial support and time for academic/extracurricular goals.
Registration is required for materials. Capacity restrictions also apply.
